Ultrastake™ brand fiberglass tree stakes
Ultrastake™ brand fiberglass tree stakes are designed for long life. In the past fiberglass rod was prone to fibers splintering or "blooming". These fibers got in the skin of handlers, and into the trees themselves! Ultraviolet light and constant flexing in windy conditions caused the breakdown of the fibers. These new technologies have been incorporated into each Ultrastake fiberglass tree stake to insure that blooming is a thing of the past.
- Ultrastake is manufactured with E glass fibers. These fibers can take more flexing without breaking. Some other fiberglass tree stakes are made with C glass fibers.
- Ultrastake has UV protectorant on each fiber on the interior and exterior of the stake. Other stakes simply paint a UV on the exterior. This less expensive option provides much less UV protection and virtually no protection if the paint is scratched.
- Only Ultrastake™ has the exclusive Diamond veil™ . Made of polyesterthis veil serves two functions. It helps hold together the fibers, like a jacket, preventing blooming. It also provides additional UV protection by shading the fibers in the stake. To see how well this veil works to prevent breakage see our video.
- Ultrastake comes with a pointed end for ease of insertion at no addition charge.
- Ultrastake is better than steel rod. Rod bends in use and stays bent. Bent rod is worse than no rod. Fiberglass flexes but springs back every time.
- Ultrastake is better than Bamboo. Even new bamboo can have 25% - 30 % splits. More split in high winds. Bamboo also frays, rots, and breaks. The normal life span for bamboo is 1-2 years.
